Burton was born July 31, 1922, in Heman, IL, son of Lynn Janvrin, Sr. and Clara (Snyder) Janvrin. He was the eldest of 5 sons, all of whom have proceeded him in death. He married Ethel Brian on February 14, 1944. She preceded him in death on September 8, 2018. Burton was a farmer. He represented the best of human beings. He was kind and respectful to all. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He loved working the land, the beauty of nature, the Cubs, and home-made ice cream. He was known for eating a bowl of oatmeal every morning of his life. Family was his main priority and he and Ethel were married for almost 75 years. He had the unique talent of “witching” for water and his wells are flourishing all around Macon County. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors and traveled to collector shows with his sons. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, President of the Macon County Fair Board, ATA, Boiling Springs Church of God, and served as a Trustee of the Boiling Springs Cemetery for many years. Burton is survived by his children, Gary (Dot) Janvrin, Linda (Dennis) - Janvrin Zinn, Neal (Kay) Janvrin, and Kevin (Lindy) Janvrin, all of Decatur; grandchildren Annette Zaske, Nicole Zinn, Natalie Gower, Dan Janvrin, Melissa Flies, Ben Janvrin, Kyle Janvrin and Ian Janvrin; 15 great- grandchildren, his sister-in-law, Sue Janvrin, and many nieces and nephews. Burton was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and his four brothers, Lynn, Russell, Robert, and Harold. The Janvrin family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Health in Mt. Zion for taking excellent care of Dad. We always knew that he was safe and surrounded by people who truly cared. Their staff and family soon became part of our family. We are sincerely grateful for their dedication to Dad.
