Ralph Hinton

Ralph E. Hinton, 79, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 11, 2013 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Inurnment will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 25, at Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton, IL. Memorials may be made to Veterans Administration. Ralph was born October 28, 1933, in Decatur, the son of John and Frances (Denton) Hinton. Ralph was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea. He was a Illinois State Trooper for 6 years, then moved to California where he managed Dairy Queen and Del Taco restaurants. Ralph was a member of the Moose Lodge. Surviving are his sons Jack Hinton and wife Darla of Decatur, IL, Bob Hinton and wife Cathy of Columbus, GA, and Mike Hinton of Decatur, IL. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; brother Charles Hinton of Decatur, IL; and sisters Jamie Ann Leach and Kathy Watrous, both of Decatur, IL. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Hinton, sisters Rosalie, Nancy, Margerite, and Pansy. "
