Phyllis Joy Storckman, 82, of Decatur, IL, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, November 10, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with Rev. Ronald Allin officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, at the funeral home. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, at Sumner Cemetery, Sumner, IL. Memorials may be made to American Parkinson Disease Association. Phyllis was born December 25, 1928, in Quincy, IL, the daughter of Phillip and Florence (Knollenberg) Herr. She married Grant Storckman on July 24, 1962, in Shabbona, IL. Phyllis was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, and enjoyed singing in the church choir. She graduated from Western Illinois University. Following graduation, Phyllis was a music teacher at Wood River, IL and Sullivan, IL public schools, and was a kindergarten teacher for Mt. Zion schools. Phyllis spent many years lovingly caring for her parents. She enjoyed crafts, artwork, and playing the piano. Surviving are her husband Grant of Decatur, IL; children Joel (Carol) Storckman of San Jose, CA and Steven (Becky) Storckman of Round Lake, IL; and three grandchildren. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and two brothers. "
