Phyllis Ruwe

Phyllis A. Ruwe, 68, of Maroa passed away Friday, November 17, 2017 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 22, at Pilgrim Lutheran Church. Visitation will be held 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, November 21 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, and one hour prior to service time, Wednesday, at the church. Burial will be in Upper Ridge Cemetery, Maroa, IL (west of Maroa). Memorials in Phyllis’ honor may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or New Life Pregnancy Center.Phyllis was born July 31, 1949 in Lincoln, IL, the daughter of Albert and Mildred (Koester) Johnson. She married Alan Ruwe on February 1, 1970 in Lincoln, IL.She was a teacher for the GED program at Richland Community College and was a counselor at New Life Pregnancy Center for over 30 years. Phyllis was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Decatur and a member of the Bible Study Fellowship.She is survived by her husband, Alan; children, Chad Ruwe and wife Beth of Maroa, IL, Brad Ruwe and wife Lori of Aurora, IL, and Ryan Ruwe and wife Elaine of Dripping Springs, TX; grandchildren, Kiersten, Alexandra, Braden, Peyton, Aryn, Logan, Jack, and Dylan; sisters, Betty Hamann of New Holland, IL and Donna Ware of Holt Summit, MO.Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents. "
