Phyllis (Michl) Owens, 96, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2016, at Heartland Health Care, Decatur, IL.Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday (12-19-2016) at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home Decatur, IL. with visitation 10:00 A.M. until service time. Burial will be at Fairlawn Cemetery Decatur, IL.Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s and Dementia Association.Phyllis was born in Decatur, IL, on January 1, 1920, the daughter of Leo and Bess Wills Michl. She Married William H. Owens, Jr. on July 18, 1942 at Quantico, VA. He preceded her in death on November 1, 2002.Phyllis received her teaching degree from Millikin University and taught at Riverside School. She was a member of 1st Church of Christ Scientist, Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, IF Chapter of PEO Lambda Tau Delta Sorority, Kiwanianne Club, Garden Club of Decatur, and had been an accredited flower show judge. Surviving are her son, W. Michl Owens and his wife Nina of Green Lane, PA. "
