Phyllis Doswell

Phyllis M. Doswell, 80, of Decatur, IL passed away on Monday, February 1, 2016 in Decatur. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 1:00pm at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL with a visitation for 11:00am-1:00pm. Memorials may be made to the Unity Church of Decatur, IL or the Decatur Public Library.Phyllis was born on June 3, 1935, in Dexter, Missouri, the daughter of John Lee and Ann Marie (Berry) Harmon. She was a bookkeeper at BWC (Blank, Wesselink, and Cook) for over 30 years and after retiring, at Agricultural Watershed Institute for over 10 years. Phyllis loved to read and was an avid Cubs fan. She was a member of the Unity Church of Decatur and volunteered at the Decatur Public Library.Surviving are three children; Deborah A. Sexton of Granite City, IL; Patricia M. Doswell and John C. Doswell both of Decatur, IL. Also surviving are three grandchildren; John Sexton of Lake City, IL; Tyler Doswell of Decatur, IL, and Adam O’Connell (Emily) of Decatur, IL. Phyllis is also survived by two sisters; Virginia Franklin (Gene) of Decatur, IL and Ellen Mahnke of Tallahasse, FL.Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Vern Harmon, and one sister Clara Lear.
