Phyllis C. Campbell, 92, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 23, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery, Springfield, IL. Memorials may be made to First Congregational Church, Red Cross or U.C.P. (United Cerebral Palsy).Phyllis was born September 27, 1924 in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Spencer Tyron and Eunice Pauline (Sellers) Anderson. She married John J. Campbell on September 20, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 29, 2012. Phyllis was a member of First Congregational Church, Illinois Occupational Therapy Assn., Phi Beta Phi Sorority, and Torch, She was past president of Council for Exceptional Children Decatur Chapter, past president of United States Power Squadron Auxiliary, and a crisis counselor for Red Cross Disaster. Phyllis was director of Easter Seals Treatment Center, and worked for Macon-Piatt Special Education. She was a consultant for Central Association of Special Education and a private practice consultant, retiring in 1988. Surviving are her son: Kevin J. Campbell and wife Paula of Decatur, IL; daughter: Ellyn C. Campbell of Atlanta, IL; grandchildren: Julie Clark and husband Mike, and Joseph K. Campbell, all of Decatur, IL; 4 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Dottie Anderson of Springfield, IL; and several nieces and nephews. Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant son, and three brothers. "
