Phyllis Brown

Phyllis A. Brown, 86, of Taylorville, IL, formerly of Blue Mound, IL, passed away Monday, September 14, 2015, at Memorial Medical Center, Springfield, IL. Family graveside services will be 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2015, at Brown Cemetery, Blue Mound, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to American Lung Association. Phyllis was born August 1, 1929 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Omar and Esther (Kater) Hopkins. She married Raymond Brown and he preceded her in death. Phyllis was a college graduate and taught at Niantic Schools for one year. She was a member of the Decatur Genealogical Society and the Eastern Star. Phyllis enjoyed playing bridge and golf. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond, children Lynette, Jeanette & Kent, and one brother. "
