Philip C. Daniels, 65, of Niantic, died suddenly Thursday, August 17, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends from 4-6 P.M on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Decatur; with a Celebration of Philip’s Life at 6:00 P.M. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. There will be a private family graveside service at Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Casas por Cristos, Samaritan’s Purse, or Carmi Baptist Children’s Home.Philip was born July 21, 1952, in Decatur, the son of Jesse Ellis Daniels and Virginia Lee (Hutchinson) Daniels. He married Brenda Roberts July 21, 1973 in Decatur.Philip worked in the automotive field for several Decatur Auto Dealerships, as well as with Ken-Roy Body Shop. He was the Transportation Director for Niantic-Harristown School District, retiring after twenty-eight years. He spent many years building and restoring cars, and for more than 30 years he operated his own business, Daniels Auto Service in Niantic.More importantly, Phil spent time sharing Christ with others and truly being a servant. Missions were always a large part of his life, and he was able to travel to Juarez, Mexico, Colorado, and South Africa to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Phil was a member and deacon of Tabernacle Baptist Church, Decatur, Illinois.Philip is survived by his wife Brenda of Niantic; children, Matthew Daniels and wife Heather, of Mt. Zion; Karen White and husband Kevin, of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Ashley, Peyton, Olivia, Benjamin, and Andrew Philip. e is He is also survived by sisters, Diana Wallbaum (Bill) and Patricia Sunderland (Ed); Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Ralph and Faye Roberts; Sister-in-law and Brother-in-law, Donna and Bryan Whitsett; many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents.
