Bessie Dean (Penny) Robinson, 100, passed away peacefully October 25th surrounded by family in the comfort of her home at Primrose Retirement Community.
Penny was born August 11, 1924, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Hugh Leroy and Maggie Gertrude (Turley) Kerwood. She married Harold Robinson on January 12, 1947. Harold died in 2011.
Penny was a member of Grace Methodist Church. She was a lifelong farm wife and mother of four children. She and Harold were “snowbirds” and enjoyed many winter months in their Florida condo. Penny recently celebrated her 100th birthday with her children.
She is survived by daughter Cindy Szold of San Diego CA; son Steven Robinson (Andrew) of Bradenton, FL; daughter Debi Smith (Jeff) of Forsyth, IL; daughter-in-law Christina Robinson of Ozark, MO; 6 grandchildren, Shane (Kristin) Robinson; Brook (Will) Foust; Gina (Guy) Boccia; Adam York; Nick (Brook) Conner, and Andrea (Chris) Gillmar; and 8 great grandchildren.
Penny was preceded in death by her parents, sister, husband Harold and son Larry.
The family extends their gratitude to Primrose and Elara Caring for their compassionate and loving care.
Private Graveside Services will be held at a later date.
