Penny Honnold, 81, of Decatur, passed away on June 3, 2025.
Private family services will be held. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, is assisting the family.
Penny was born November 10, 1943 in Decatur, the daughter of Leroy G. and Helen (Dupee) Ward. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Illinois. Penny married Dennis Honnold on September 4, 1965 in Decatur at Westminster Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2014. She worked for 10 years as the Book Department and Jewelry Manager at Haines and Essick. Penny enjoyed crafts and played in two separate bridge clubs. She also loved reading and was a member of three different book clubs. Penny was a member of Pi Beta Phi and served for many years as the accountant for the Millikin Chapter. She was a member of PEO - GR chapter and a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her sons: Daniel Ward Honnold of Memphis, TN and Jeffrey Lehman Honnold of Corpus Cristi, TX; nieces: Lisa Mannweiler-Gift and husband Bradley and Catherine Mannweiler-Treen and husband Herbert; two grand nephews: Joshua Gift and wife Erin and Andrew Gift; she also leaves cousins and many life-long friends.
Penny was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judith Ward Mannweiler; and husband, Dennis Honnold.
