Pearl Imogene Wendel, 79, of Decatur, died February 24, 2013, at Symphony Nursing Home, Decatur. Private family services will be held with inurnment at a later date. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is assisting the family. Memorials may be made to the family or to the donor's choice of charities. Mrs. Wendel was born January 11, 1934, in Linter, IL, the daughter of Hubert Lloyd and Wanetta (Duncan) McCoy. She married Charles Eugene Wendel in Decatur on April 29, 1950. She is survived by her husband Charles of Decatur; children, Linda Lou Buckner of Decatur, Terry Eugene Wendel and wife Nancy of Lovington; brothers and sisters, Norman Lloyd "Buck" McCoy of Mt. Zion, Kenneth LaVern "Vern" McCoy of Decatur, Evelyn Irene Samples and husband Owen of Decatur, and Myrtle Ilene Henrichsmeyer and husband Larry of Mt. Pulaski; several nieces and nephews and one great niece. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law Loretta McCoy. The family would like to thank the staff of Symphony of Decatur, DMH Home Health Care and Hospice, and special friend Mike Martin for the tender and loving care given to Pearl during her journey. "
