Paul “Herman” Yobski, 86, of Decatur, IL, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016, at Symphony of Decatur.As per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and a private family gathering will be held at a later date. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL will be handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 2001 S. Lindbergh Blvd., St. Louis, MO 63131-3597.Paul was born January 8, 1930, in Decatur, IL, the son of Paul Herman, Sr. and Florence (Cazel) Yobski. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving 2 tours, first at Great Lakes Naval Station, then aboard the U.S.S. Gilmore. Between tours of duty, Paul worked for Wabash Railroad as a crew dispatcher. Following the Navy, in 1954 he became an insurance agent and a real estate broker for over 50 years, before retiring. In 1972, the Yobski family began operating a fruit and vegetable farm on N. Taylor Avenue.Paul was a member of Macon Lodge #8 A.F. & A.M., Ansar Shrine Club, American Legion Post #105, Warrensburg Gun Club, and Decatur Elks Club.He is survived by his son: James B. Yobski of Santa Monica, CA; daughter: Lisa A. Rein of Scottsdale, AZ; and his former wife: Barbara L. (Pollock) Yobski.He was preceded in death by his sister: Dorothy Davis of Toledo, OH, brothers: Jack F. Yobski, Sr. of Decatur, and Robert B.
