Paul Patterson

Paul R. Patterson, 67, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, January 20, 2019, in his home with his wife at his side. A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 26, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation from 10:00 am until service time at the funeral home. Inurnment will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to Wounded Warrior Project. Paul was born June 4, 1951, in Decatur, son of James and Mary (Kendall) Patterson. He married Carol Ann Klaus on September 6, 1970, in Decatur. Paul was a U.S. Army veteran serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church and previously worked for Essex Wire, Grigoleit, Mitsubishi, and Sunbelt Rental. Paul was a stamp collector and a professional grandpa. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Carol of Decatur; son, Chris Patterson of Decatur; grandchildren, Chloe Lynn Patterson and Gavin Christopher Patterson, both of Morton, IL; siblings, Betty Gober, Shirley Bobbitt, Mary Lou Ahrens, Joe Patterson, Sandy Miller, Pam Danner, David Patterson, and Jimmy Patterson. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Sherry Lynne, siblings, Lois Billing, Loretta Ambrose, Susan Park, Bobby Ewing, Gary Patterson, and beloved dog, Olivia.
