Paul E. Durchholz, 81, of Decatur, IL, peacefully passed into the arms of his Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Symphony of Decatur, Decatur, IL. Graveside services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Disabled Veterans National Foundation, Inc., P.O. Box 96648, Washington, D.C. 20090-6648. Paul was born August 22, 1933, in Decatur Memorial Hospital, Decatur, IL, the son of John Martin and Hazel Maria (Vaughan) Durchholz. Paul graduated from Decatur High School in 1951 and served 4 years in the Navy during the Korean War as a metalsmith. Upon returning to Decatur, he worked for A.E. Staley Mfg. Co. for 40 years as a millwright, retiring in 1991. Paul met the love of his life at the Savoy Club, a club for young adults at the YMCA. Paul E. Durchholz and Jo A. Harris were married on March 10, 1957 at Central Christian Church and celebrated 58 years on March 10, 2015. He attended First Christian Church, and enjoyed camping, fishing, and motorcycling with his family and friends. Paul leaves behind a family who loves and cherishes him, including the love of his life, Jo of Decatur; daughters Dian (Kory) Kauzlarich of Lebanon, IN, Paula (Mike) Hayn of Goodlettesville, TN, Barbara Moretti of Indianapolis, IN; grandchildren Quinn Miller and wife Rachel of Indiana, Danielle Moretti of Indianapolis, IN, Caleb Moretti of Indianapolis, IN, Devan Hayn of Goodlettesville, TN; great grandchildren Keagan, Eli and Tiffany Miller of Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, grandsons Nicholas and Jacob Burnett, brothers George and Harold Durchholz. The family wishes to thank everyone at Symphony of Decatur for their loving care. Heather and Marcus were his favorite and when Marcus moved to Georgia, Paul cried. God Bless all of You. "
