Paul Kermit Daniels, 88, of Decatur, IL, passed away 9:17 a.m., Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Carle Foundation Hospital, Urbana, IL. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, August 8, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists of Central Illinois, or the American Heart Association. Paul was born August 24, 1925, in Detroit, IL, the son of Frank and Vera Sneeden Daniels. He married Barbara Jean Winters on July 22, 1945 in Decatur, IL. Paul worked for Illinois Power Company for 42 years before retiring and was a member of IBEW Local 51. He was a trustee of Community Bible Church, volunteer at Salvation Army, DOVE, member of 452nd Bomb Squad and the Champaign Sportsmans' Club Camping Group. Paul was a lifelong Cardinals fan and loved to do search-a-word puzzles. He was proud of his service in WWII as a tail-gunner on a B-17, and also served in the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Barbara, of Decatur, IL; daughter: Vicki Rentfrow of Decatur; sons: Terry (Janet) Daniels of Decatur, Mark (Rebecca) Daniels of Springfield, Tim Daniels of Bethany; 12 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; sister: Margaret Arnold of Flint, MI; and brother: Ervin Daniels of Pittsfield, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers and one son-in-law. "
