Patty (Pat) A. Maddox, 89, of Niantic, passed peacefully into God’s arms, Friday, December 25, 2020, in Concord, North Carolina, where for the last 15 months she lived with her granddaughter Stacey, husband Roger Neal and youngest son John, who lovingly cared for her. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Illini Cemetery with Pastor Dennis Hughes officiating. Immediately following the the graveside services, a luncheon will be served outdoors (weather permitting) at Illini Congregational Church, 5187 N. Kenney Rd., Warrensburg, IL 62573. Following the Illinois Mask Mandate, masks are required for everyone inside the building. Memorials in Pat's honor may be made to Illini Congregational Church Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Pat was born January 7, 1931, in Decatur, the daughter of Herchel and Helen Beck. She married James R. Maddox on August 20, 1948. Jim preceded her in death. Pat is survived by sons, Joe R. Maddox and wife Diane of Chatham, Ted B. Maddox and wife Dawne of Warrensburg, and John D. Maddox of Concord, North Carolina; grandchildren, Dr. Brandon Maddox and wife Angie, Dr. Jeremy Maddox and wife Kris, Matthew Maddox and wife Andrea, Trenton Maddox and wife Hannah, Troy Maddox and wife Jennifer, Taylor Maddox and wife Stephanie, Stacey King Neal and husband Roger, and Zachary King and wife Erin; 15 great grandchildren; and sister Jane Mueller of Wilmington, North Carolina. She was preceded in death by infant sister, Dorothy, her parents, brother Robert Beck, daughter Susan and husband Jim. Pat loved God, her family, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved to cook for family, friends, and neighbors. She attended Millikin University, where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, played Bridge, member of Illini Church and their Women’s Fellowship, was a Den Leader for Cub Scouts, PTA, did various duties on the farm, and was a partner in “The Prairie Patch”. She is greatly missed and loved. Heaven gained an Angel. Dad said once that God told him “I sent you a good one”. And that he did.
