Patricia Watson

August 13, 1939 — October 27, 2017

Patricia (Pat) Anne Watson passed away at 10:08 A.M. on Friday (10-27-2017) at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes are assisting the family with the arrangements.Patricia was born on August 13, 1939 in Decatur, IL. the daughter of Martha H. Schuerman, of Decatur, and Kenneth F. Schuerman (who preceded her in death.)Tremendous volumes could be written of all the good and kind things that mom did throughout her life for so many people. She was passionate about the welfare of the children of Decatur School District 61. She was room mother, PTA president, Decatur School Board Member, and turtle lady (yes, also passionate about turtles.) She managed the Springfield Antique Mall until her retirement, buying and selling antiques, to her heart’s content. She was a very intelligent, compassionate, and talented lady. She was most passionate about her family. We were truly the most blessed of all: her loving husband, Michael J. Watson, of 53 years, and children, Michael (Cathy) Watson, Laura (Dennis) Peters, Inga (Fred) Koester, and Wade (Melissa) Watson. She was so proud of her 10 grandchildren, Hannah, Sarah, Joseph, Bailey, Daniel, Kallen, Emma, Rebekah, Andrew, and Corren. Mom leaves behind many friends and family in several states; all who knew her truly loved her and enjoyed her company. Words can never express our love and great fortune to be entrusted to this wonderful wife and mother; only in our hearts can be expressed these reverent feelings of being hers. She was a great woman who always thought of everyone before herself. We know she is in the loving arms and safety of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; there would be no other way we could have ever let her go. Our loss is immeasurable, comparable only to the love she gave to each of us. Per her request, there will be no memorial or services. Donations may be made to the Decatur School District 61 Foundation, 101 W. Cerro Gordo St. Decatur, IL. 62523. "
