Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at First Church of the Nazarene, with visitation 5 to 8 P.M., Monday, June 9, at the church. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Memorials may be made to St. Lukes Brain & Stroke Research Institute. Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements.Dutch was born August 13, 1939, in Decatur, IL, the son of William Jennings Brian and Beatrice (Burchard) Lichtenberger. He married Rebecca Hunt on December 14, 1985 in Decatur, IL. Dutch was a member of First Church of the Nazarene, where he served as a great board member. He served the Macon County Sheriffs Department for 31 years, retiring as Lieutenant. His details previously assigned were Governors Committee on Drunk Driving, Governors Committee on Safe Driving, two years DEA/Federal Marshalls assignment, Decatur Chamber of Commerce-Neighborhood Safety, Advanced Fire Arms training, FBI/Northwestern University Advanced Traffic Accident Investigation, Instructor for Accident Investigations, Instructor for DUI, and two years Federal Marshalls Assignment. Dutch loved Custom Cars, 50's music, spending time with his grandkids and loved traveling, especially the Smokey Mountains. He had coffee every morning at The Stoop with his car club buddies. Dutch was Founder and President of Mid Central National Car Show from 1987-2002, and former President of Macon County Fair.Dutch leaves behind many friends and family with whom he had made wonderful memories. He is survived by his wife Becky of Decatur, IL; daughter Rachel Wisley and husband Aron of Decatur; sons Israel Pulliam of Decatur, Troy Pulliam of Decatur, Brian Lichtenberger and wife Cindy of Cape Coral, FL; grandchildren Mason, Baylie, Kade, Madyson, McKenzie, Micaila, Cambry and T.J.; brother W.D. Pete Lichtenberger and wife Betty of Peoria, IL; sisters Jeanne Standley and husband Dean of Mt. Zion, IL, Odessa Wickersham of Peoria, IL, Janet Duggan of Edwardsville, IL, Linda Brawner of Oklahoma.He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Bud, Bill, Wally and Tory, sisters Phyllis, Barbara and Donna.The Lichtenberger family would like to express a special thank you to the Decatur Memorial Hospital Stroke Team - whose members make a difference everyday.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com.
