Orveta Barnes

H. Orveta (Bailey) Barnes, 91, of Decatur, IL passed away on March 12, 2016. A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, March 18 at 3:00pm at the Mt. Auburn Township Cemetery in Mt. Auburn, IL. The visitation will be on Thursday, March 17 from 6-8:00pm at the Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home in Decatur, IL.Memorials may be made to American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.Orveta was born on May 28, 1924 in Mt. Auburn, IL the daughter of Orville and Bertha J. (Morrison) Bailey. She married Victor E. Barnes on March 10, 1944. Orveta enjoyed baking cakes, bowling, and spending time with her family, especially her grand, great-grand, and great-great-grandkids. Orveta was a member of the Eastern Star of Decatur.Surviving are her daughter Helen L. (Barnes) Fry of Decatur, IL; a grandson Terry L. Fry of Decatur, IL; a granddaughter, Mary A. (Bob) McCoy (Fry) of Decatur, IL; great grandsons, Cody and Terrall (fiancé, Savanna) Fry; and one great-granddaughter Krista Logue. Also surviving are three great-great grandsons; Kaleb, Connor, and Conner V.; one great-great granddaughter, Railynn; one sister Mary Ellen (Bailey) Mizell; one brother-in-law, Gail Barnes; several nieces and nephews, and one unborn great-great grandson.Orveta was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one great-granddaughter; one sister, Freda Wray; and one brother, Everett Bailey.
