Funeral services will be 12:00 Noon, Wednesday, October 1, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation two hours prior to service time. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur.Memorials may be made to Resurrection Life Church (Formerly Bethel Bible Church).Opal was born on May 18, 1924, in Casey, IL, the daughter of Simon Sylvester and Anna Fern (Cooley) Harris. She married Raymond Wells, Sr. on October 18, 1940, in Henderson, KY.Opal was a wonderful mother, cook, and homemaker. She was a member of Resurrection Life Church and was a strong member of the prayer chain.Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Raymond of Decatur, IL; sons Raymond Wells Jr. and wife Suzanne of Monticello, IL, Larry Wells and wife Nancy of Billings, MO, Robert Wells of Decatur, IL, David Wells and wife Carlene of Decatur, IL, Paul Wells and wife Tammy of Decatur, IL, James Wells and wife Kathy of Maroa, IL; daughters Shirley Guntle and husband Jim of Decatur, IL, Barbara Whisnant and husband Steve of Atwood, IL, Darlene Townsley and husband Jerry of Mason, OH, Karen Applegate and husband Mike of Decatur, IL, Sharon Green and husband Paul of Decatur, IL; 34 grandchildren; 62 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother Simon Harris and sister Eva Beasley.She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com "
