Due to weather conditions, the service has been changed to 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 5, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation changed to 6-8 p.m. Friday, February 4, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur.Memorials may be made to New Beginnings Church of God.Norman was born June 2, 1926, in Vincennes, IN, the son of James Arthur and Hattie Belle (Holt) Rodgers. He married his childhood sweetheart Ellen Pauline Mann on June 11, 1944, in Bloomfield, IN, and they were blessed with 66 years of marriage.Norman was a member of Boiling Springs Church of God. He served his country in the U.S. Army Tank Destroyers during WWII. Norman retired from A.E. Staley Company in 1985, after 38 years of service. He was a member of the N.R.A. and enjoyed collecting guns, hunting and fishing. But the thing he loved most was spending time with his family. He had a great love for the Lord and life. He never met a stranger and always made people smile.Surviving are his wife Pauline of Decatur, IL; children Patricia Major and husband Randy of Princeton, KY, David Rodgers and wife Marsha of Forsyth, IL, and Rhonda Burns and husband Chuck of Mt. Zion, IL. Also surviving are 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.Norman was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, one brother, and grandson Bradley A. Rodgers. "
