Norma Marie (Dixson) Theobald, of Decatur, IL, died 10:57 A.M., Thursday, July 5, 2012, at her residence. Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 10, 2012, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Monday, July 9, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Memorials may be made to the Northeast Community Fund or First United Methodist Church Art with Heart, designated for the Cancer Care Specialists. Norma was born June 5, 1924, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of John Dale and Hazel Marie (Gordon) Dixson. She married Grant Edgar Theobald in 1966. He preceded her in death on December 12, 1987. Norma was a member of Lampstand Presbyterian Church. She retired from the Herald & Review, where she worked in the Editorial Department. She is survived by her children Susan K. Chalmers (Pat), Cathy R. Jebe (Gary), Jeanine M. Prather and Todd D. Theobald (Kathryn); sisters Mary Alice Rule and Ruth Ann Galka; brothers James Dixson and Dean Dixson; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Grant, and brothers, Gordon and Grover. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be handling the arrangements.
