Norma Louise Smith Jones, 79, left to meet Our Heavenly Father on the evening of Thursday, March 17th, 2011 in Fair Havens Christian Home.Celebration of Normas Life will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, March 21, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery, Mt. Auburn, IL. Memorials may be made to The Elks Lodge #401 or the American Lung Association.Norma, born Norma Louise Bond, on March 30, 1931 in Decatur, IL daughter of Wanda (Bond) Burstein and loving granddaughter of Ethel and George Tate. Norma was the manager of Bursteins Womens Apparel until 1975. Prior to this she enjoyed employment with Houdai Hershey and Illinois Power. In later years she assisted in various duties with the Blue Mound Leader, Blue Mound, IL, and as bookkeeper with Van Zettis bakery. Norma was very active with the Lady of the Elks, Elk Lodge #401, and many fundraising activities valuing childrens charities. Norma also enjoyed a role as girl scout leader to her daughters girl scout troops. She was a charter member of the Amicita Chapter of the American Business Womens Association. Norma was an avid needle worker, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Decatur, IL, and she loved to dance. She was responsible for instilling the Christian faith in both of her daughters in their formative years.Norma married Woodrow W. Smith in 1950. She later married William D. Jones in 1975. Norma is survived by her daughters Deborah K. (Smith) and husband William Berry and Cynthia L. (Smith) and husband Kenneth Ervin. Granddaughters Stephanie (Stuart) and husband Kenneth Renfro and Nicole (Stuart) and husband Matthew Dilbeck and great granddaughters Emily Louise Renfro and Shelby Mae Renfro.She was preceded in death by her parents, Abe and Wanda L. Burstein, husband Woodrow W. Smith and William D. Jones, and her little dog, JB.The family would like to thank the loving hands of all those who cared for Mother in Fair Havens Christian Home. We would like to thank Marie Scales who enabled Mother to be independent until the last year of her life. We would also like to thank Rev. Ron Allin, Westminster Presbyterian Church for all of his visits. "
