Norma J. Corey, 97, of Decatur, IL, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Vonderlieth Living Center, Mt. Pulaski, IL.
Funeral services will be 12:00 PM, Monday November 4, 2024 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Decatur, IL.
Norma was born March 12, 1927, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Charles and Lela (Cozad) Dawley. She married Robert R. Corey on May 19, 1946 in Decatur, IL and together they celebrated 78 years of marriage this year. Norma worked for ADM for 9 ½ years as executive assistant to the president of Columbia Peanut. She and Robert were soulmates and she was known to keep an immaculate home. Norma enjoyed bowling and golf, winning awards at both. Later, she and Robert enjoyed traveling, including trips to Alaska and a river cruise down the Danube River. Norma was a member of Grace Methodist Church.
Norma is survived by her husband, Robert (who celebrated his 100
th
birthday on October 28); son, Robert David Corey (Terri) of Maryville, TN; daughter, Karen J. Corey of Morris, IL; grandchildren: Sara Punke, Selina Najdanovich, Rob Corey and Ryan Corey; great-grandchildren: Will Punke, Landon Punke, Fiona Punke, Dean Najdanovich, Aiden Tamez, Adryana Corey, and Ryland Corey; and niece, Penny Barrett.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Lenora Barrett.
