Nora Carter

Nora Narissa Carter, 98, of Decatur, IL, went home to be with the Lord at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December, 31, 2016, in the Mt. Zion Home of her daughter.A celebration of her life and home going will be at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday (01-04-2017) at Tabernacle Baptist Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 10:00 A.M. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL. Memorials may be made to: Passion Community Church 121, Mt. Zion, IL. or Tabernacle Baptist Church. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family with the arrangements. Nora was born April 12, 1918, in the country between Hayworth and Bloomington, IL. the daughter of Jesse and Hattie Mae (Albert) Daniels. She married Don A. Carter on March 11, 1939 in Decatur, IL. He preceded her in death on December 17, 2003. Nora was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for over 60 years. She taught children and served in the nursery for many of those years. She worked at Crane Potato Chip Factory and the Pines Laundromat. Her greatest joy was taking care of her family. She served the Lord with a quiet, kind and compassionate spirit always willing to help wherever she could. She loved her family and her Lord Jesus Christ.She is survived by her sister Betty Teschner of Decatur, son, the Rev. Larry (Judy) Carter of Aurora, IL.; daughter Lana (Larry) Davis of Mt. Zion, IL.; daughter Cheryl (Jerry) Massey of Boody, IL. and daughter Vickie Moss of Decatur, IL.; 17 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; 45 great-great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-great-grandchildren.Nora was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter Sharon; daughter Audrey Bolsen; 2 sons-in-law; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; four brothers and three sisters.The family would like to thank Dr. D. Patel, D.M.H. Hospice and Nicole Stahulak for their kind and compassionate care of Nora in the last year of her life.
