Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 12, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, and 9-10 a.m, Thursday, June 12, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Boiling Springs Cemetery, Decatur.Memorials may be made to Oreana Baptist Church, Oreana, IL 62554.Nellie was born on March 28, 1915, in Maroa, IL, the daughter of Samuel Daniel and Nellie Louise (Wheeler) Edgecombe. She married Lyle Alvin Boyd on January 25, 1934. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1998, after 64 years of marriage.Nellie was a homemaker and a member of Oreana Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting and reading. Nellie especially enjoyed spending time with her extended family and welcoming each new addition to the family.Surviving are her children Illene Tucker and husband Tom of Farmer City, IL; Hazel DeFore of Oreana, IL; Alvin Boyd and wife Connie of Argenta, IL; Carol Johnson and husband David of Hyattsville, MD; and May Vance and husband Jim of Farmer City, IL; 26 grandchildren, 60 great grandchildren, and 9 great great grandchildren.Nellie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Samuel, daughter Kay Brown (Joe), twin daughters Lois and Louise, one granddaughter, nine brothers, one sister, one brother-in-law, and seven sisters-in-law.Condolences may be left to the family at www.brintlingerandearl.com "
