Nelda Roper

Nelda Dolores Roper, 81, of Decatur, died Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, September 27, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5-7 P.M. Friday, September 26, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Harristown Cemetery, Harristown. Dolores was born October 29, 1932, in Decatur, the daughter of Clyde E. And Mary E. (Vowell) Thompson. She married Richard Preston Roper on October 9, 1948, in Pigott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on July 20, 1983. Nelda was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Decatur Chapter #111. She is survived by her daughter Paula Tuttle of Decatur; granddaughter Kristina Henry and husband Greg of Cecilia, KY; great granddaughters Kylee Michelle and Annabelle Kimberly, both of Cecilia, KY; nephews Timothy Thompson and wife Kassy and family of Maroa, Mark Thompson and family of Bement, David Thompson and wife Diane of Peoria, and Scott Thompson and wife Theresa of Dalton City. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and brother Ronald Thompson. "
