Nelda Doris Pogue, 85, of Decatur, was reunited with her husband, Clif, and delivered into the loving arms of God at 1:00 a.m., Thursday, August 24, 2017, in Decatur Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m., Monday, August 28, 2017, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army-Home League.Mrs. Pogue was born July 29, 1932, in Ennis, Kentucky, the daughter of Albert and Myrtle Arrendell. On May 9, 1950, Nelda Doris Arrendell was united in marriage to Clifton Pogue, and they were married for more than 66 years. Nelda worked for several years as a cashier at K’s Merchandise Mart in Decatur. She had a strong faith and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was active in Caterpillar Retirees’ Club, several car restoration clubs, UAW 751, and Home League at the Salvation Army. She and Clif organized numerous bus trips for friends and guests; Branson, Missouri was a favorite destination. She always considered a good gospel group and Elvis her favorite music. Nelda was a loving wife, mother, and Nana.Surviving are her son Steven (Chris) of Decatur; her daughter Kelly Palmer (special friend George) of Foley, Alabama; her granddaughters Ann Keefer Pogue and Betsy (Chris) Turner, both of Decatur; and her great-grandson Christian Tide Turner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters and one brother. "
