Morris Buttrum

Morris G. Buttrum, 73, of Decatur, IL, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 25, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 28, at Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg, IL. The family requests casual attire. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Homes, Decatur, are assisting the family with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Promise Land Ministries, Warrensburg, IL or to the American Cancer Society. Morris was born June 4, 1943, in Arkansas, son of Judge and Ruth (Rice) Buttrum. He married Diana on April 4, 1981, in Decatur. Morris worked for Trump Brothers Grain Company. He was a member and board member of Promise Land Ministries. He loved animals, especially horses and enjoyed motorcycles and woodworking. Surviving are his wife Diana of Decatur, IL; daughter Angie Sessions and husband Eric of Clinton, IL; son Anthony Buttrum of Decatur, IL, granddaughter Felyciti Buttrum and great-grandson Landon, both of Indiana; son Mike Hathaway of Decatur, IL; son Doug Hathaway of Decatur, IL, grandchildren Mick, Taylor and Trent; daughter Cheri King of Indiana; daughter Leigh Anne Rathbun of Ohio, grandchildren Leslie, William, Muriah, Rana, Aaron and Kyleigh; and niece Melina Smith of Arkansas. Morris was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Betty, siblings Charles, J.C., L.D., and Vida, and son Dick. Morris was the most loving patient and kind man and will be sadly missed. "
