Monroe Myers "Ray" "Monty" Riddle, 81, of Decatur, IL, formerly of English, IN, died Thursday, February 7, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 7:00 P.M., Sunday, February 10, 2013, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation 4 to 7 P.M., Sunday, prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown, IL at a later date. Memorials may be made to Homeward Bound. Monroe was born June 13, 1931, in English, Indiana, the son of James and Minnie (Myers) Riddle. He married Iscelean M. Hagen on February 14, 1961. Monroe was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was a talented musician and loved Jazz Music. Monroe worked as a line a type operator for the Herald & Review, worked for newspapers in Lexington, KY, Jasper, IN, and Villa Grove, was a landscaper and most recently worked for the U.S. Post Office, and part-time at Commercial Mail service until the spring of 2012. Monroe lived for his family. He loved his wife, children and grandchildren very much. Monroe enjoyed family bbq's, picnics and taking care of his lawn. He also loved his family pets, enjoyed boating, ball games and most of all his family. Monroe was a member of the V.F.W. in English, IN, and the American Legion in Jasper, IN, was a Chicago Bears fan and a Chicago Cub and St. Louis Cardinal baseball fan. Monroe leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Iscelean, of Decatur, IL; sons Kent and wife Becky of Decatur, Randy and Ron of Decatur; daughters Kelly and husband Jay Schwegel of Decatur, Karen and husband Scott Minnis of Decatur, and Rhonda Kramer of Decatur; grandchildren Sean D. Smith, Melissa Kramer, Starr Kramer, Ariel Kramer, Robbie Minnis, Danielle Minnis, Harrison Riddle; great granddaughter Victoria and one expected soon; nephews Mark and Bruce Riddle. Monroe was preceded in death by his parents, one son Darrell, granddaughter Elizabeth, brother James, and sister-in-law Louise Riddle. "
