Monica "Sandy" French

Monica “Sandy” French, 96, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2025 with her family by her side.

Graveside service will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at Macon County Memorial Park, 5700 W Main Street, Decatur, IL 62522. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sandy’s honor may be made to Salvation Army – Decatur Corps, 229 W Main Street, Decatur, IL 62523.

Sandy was born was born March 28, 1928 in Decatur, the daughter of Tony and Edna (Hurst) Bland. She married Dewey French, Jr. He preceded her in death on January 5, 2000. Sandy enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was passionate about volunteering with the Salvation Army where she volunteered countless hours. Sandy loved being around people and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her daughters: Barbara Mosier of Indiana, Bonnie Neeley of Decatur, and Janet (Jeff) Stiner of Decatur; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dewey and 1 grandchild.
