Minnie Poll

Minnie Louise Poll, 97, of Monticello, passed away September 12, 2017 at Piatt County Nursing Home.Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 16th at Holy Family Catholic Church, Decatur IL. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM at the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Holy Family Church or Piatt County Nursing Home.Minnie was born October 12, 1919 in Spring Valley, IL, the daughter of Joseph A. and Margaret (Artuso) Trogolo. She married Henry John Poll on April 1, 1945 and he preceded her in death.Minnie worked as a secretary, bookkeeper, and stenographer for St. Paul Insurance Co., American Lung Association, VanZetti Bakery, and Holy Family.Minnie enjoyed playing bunco, bird watching, knitting, crocheting, sewing, baking, and the Holy Family Guild.Minnie and her husband, John, were charter members of Holy Family. She was also a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church in Monticello, and the Homemakers Extention Community.Minnie is survived by her 3 daughters, Mary (Don) Sarbaugh of Rantoul, Susan (Robert) Trusty of White Heath and Jane (Harold) Seidel of Willow Branch, Indiana, 10 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother, her husband, John, and 1 grandchild "
