Milford Smiley, 80, of Warrensburg, IL, passed away at 11:17 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013, at Heartland Healthcare Center, Decatur, IL. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to services and from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 16, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Illini Cemetery, Warrensburg, IL. Milford was born December 16, 1932, in Karnak, IL, the son of Henry M. and Dissie (Basham) Smiley. He married Louetta Gertrude Duke in February 1952, in McQuady, KY. She preceded him in death on January 4, 2006. Milford was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. He previously worked at Decatur Paper Company - Uni Source for 25 years and then worked for Haste Transportation. Milford enjoyed hunting, camping, and wood crafts. Surviving are his son Roger Smiley of Warrensburg, IL; daughter-in-law Victoria L. Smiley of Sturgis, KY; grandchildren Dennis L. Smiley, Adam L. Smiley and wife Michelle, all of Decatur, IL, and Paul "PJ" Mullen and wife Stormi of Sturgis, KY; great-grandchildren Tristen Smiley of Decatur, IL, Trace D. Housch of Mt. Zion, IL, Dominic A. Thrasher, Brianna N. Smiley, Chase A. Smiley, all of Decatur, IL, Adrian Mullen and Boston C. Mullen, both of Sturgis, KY; sisters Lucy Strickland and husband Don of Saucier, MS, Nancy Hamilton of Latham, IL, Shirley Bennett and husband Mike of Hardinsburg, KY; and brother Billy Smiley and wife Joan of Hardinsburg, KY. Milford was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Ronnie Smiley, sisters Margaret Bratcher and Helen Stone, brothers Henry Smiley, Jr. and Eugene Smiley.
