Mildred Minnie Goodwin, 87, of Decatur, died 4:45 AM Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Heartland Health Care Center. Funeral service will be 11 AM Wednesday September 5, 2012 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1960 E. Johns Av., Decatur. Visitation will be 5 - 7 PM Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home and one hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be at Lutheran Cemetery. Memorials: Trinity Lutheran Church. Mildred was born July 3, 1925 in LaMoure, ND, the daughter of Ernest and Minnie (Schiedeggier) Danz. She married John Goodwin, December 23, 1945 in Delevan, IL. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a formerly employed by Caterpillar Tractor Company. Mildred is survived by one son, John (Denise) Goodwin of Boody, IL; one brother, Roy Danz of Platteville, WI; grandchildren Sara (Luke) Wells of Macon, IL, Teri Moore of Decatur, Amanda Goodwin of Decatur, great grandchildren Marley and Cannon, and special friends Ozzie and Jenny Goodwin, Ron and Laura Leach and Tom and Jan Creighton. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; one infant son; infant twin daughters; brother, Leo; and sister, Florence. Mildred was a hard working woman who had a heart of gold.She loved to help anyone who needed her. She cherished her friends and loved grandchildren. The family is happy that she is with her beloved husband, in God's arms. "
