Mildred "Millie" Chenoweth, 75, of LaPlace, IL, passed away at 8:11 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 31, at LaPlace United Methodist Church. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Monday, December 30 at Brintlinger and Earl Cerro Gordo Funeral Home. Burial will be in LaPlace Cemetery, LaPlace, IL. Memorials may be made to LaPlace United Methodist Church. Millie was born December 23, 1938, in Shelby County, IL, the daughter of Elmer E. and Pauline (Caldwell) Jackson. She married Richard Chenoweth on January 26, 1958, in Cerro Gordo, at the old Methodist Church. Millie was a member of LaPlace United Methodist Church, five quilting guilds, and The Red Hat Society. She previously owed and operated the Wheel Inn Café in LaPlace and the Cerro Gordo Café. She was a former beautician, worked in the cafeteria at Cerro Gordo and LaPlace schools, LaPlace Post Office, Friendship Hill, and had sold Stanley Home Products. Millie enjoyed quilting, selling her knitting and paintings at craft shows, and collecting cookie jars. She especially enjoyed her winters in Florida with her husband. Surviving are her husband of 55 years, Richard of LaPlace, IL; sons: Rick Chenoweth and wife Karen of Cerro Gordo, IL and Ron Chenoweth and wife Kennette of LaPlace, IL; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; brother: Elmer "Bud" Jackson and wife Janet of Cerro Gordo, IL; sister: Barbara Ekiss of Argenta, IL; sisters and brothers-in law: Ann Finke and husband Ken, Dennis Chenoweth, Carol Benedict, Kathy Price and husband Larry, Alice Lawyer and David Chenoweth. Also surviving are many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Millie was preceded in death by her parents and sister Elner Jackson. "
