Mildred Behen

It is with great sadness that the family of Mildred Behen announces her passing on Novermber 21, 2012. Mildred was born on Aug. 8, 1909 in Jamaica, IL the first of five children to Charles and Lura Lawrence. Funeral services will be held at the Decatur Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home on Sunday, Nov. 25 at 2:00pm with visitation one hour before. Entombment will be Monday, Nov. 26 at 11:00am at the Star of Hope Mausolem in Decatur. She met and married Lyle Behen in Paris, IL in 1928. Out of this marriage they had three children. After 58 years of marriage Lyle passed away in 1986. Mildred was a devoted wife, and caring mother, grandmother and aunt. She loved fixing big meals when her family and friends got together. She is survived by her son Richard; two granddaughters Karen (Carla) Behen and Carol (Rick) Kesler. One grandson Steve (Debbie) Behen. One brother Philip (Eleanor) Lawrence, 7 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her son Bob and daughter Patty, two granddaughters Susan and Theresa, two brothers, and one sister. Memorials are to the Salvation Army. "
