Mildred Barnes

Mildred “Betty” Barnes, 87, of Moweaqua, IL, passed away at 9:55 a.m. Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Moweaqua Nursing Center.Cremation rites to be accorded. There will be no services.Betty was born January 31, 1929, in Niantic, IL. She was a member of Niantic Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution and Royal Neighbors. She worked as a secretary for St. Mary’s Hospital and sold Stanley house products for 25 years. Betty enjoyed all kinds of animals.Surviving are her son David Barnes and wife Vicki of Niantic, IL; grandchildren: Kelly W. Timmons of Clinton, IL, Michelle L. Timmons of Lincoln, IL, John D. Timmons of Maroa, IL, Richard Cornthwaite and wife Jessica of Kings Bay, GA, Charli Cornthwaite of Niantic, IL, Derrick Barnes of Niantic, IL; and 17 great-grandchildren.Betty was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Linda M. Timmons, and two great-grandchildren. "
