Michael Robbins

Michael Jerome Robbins, 66, of Sullivan, passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his family.A Memorial Gathering will be 6:00 - 8:00 PM, on Michael’s 67th Birthday, January 13, 2022 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur.Michael was born January 13, 1955 in Lake Charles, LA, the son of Paul and Louella (Knox) Robbins. He married Laurie Lake on August 3, 2009. Michael owned and operated Robco Fiberglass Repair for over 20 years. At his heart, he was a musician, playing bass and singing in several local bands including: Night Fire, UPS, Vintage, and L-Win Motel. Michael was also a fan of the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Cardinals. He was a member of 3rd United Methodist Church where he served as a deacon.He is survived by his wife, Laurie; children: Michael James (Samantha) Robbins of Bloomington, Brody Matthew (Mariah) Robbins of Evansville, IN, Danielle Payton, Jordan Morey, and Katie Payton, all of Sullivan; grandchildren: Michaela, Arianna, Michael, Eleni, and Rex; and nephew, Cliff Collier.Michael was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Janie and Sally; brother, Jim; and niece, Susie Collier.
