Michael Dittmer

Michael G. Dittmer (Mike), 64, of Decatur, Illinois formally of Mendon, Illinois passed away June 24, 2019. Mike was born on September 6, 1954 in Quincy, Illinois. He is the son of the late Robert G. Dittmer and the late Luella R. (Padgett) Dittmer of Mendon. Mike was a graduate of Unity High School, Mendon, Illinois and received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He was also a member of the Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity. In his younger years Mike enjoyed music, fishing, basketball and books. He always enjoyed the outdoors. Mike worked several years for Dittmer Construction of Macomb, Illinois. Mike is survived by two brothers, John R. Dittmer of Macomb, and Dennis R. Dittmer and his wife, Beverly of Liberty, and one sister Ruth Ann (Dittmer) McGrew and her husband Kenneth of Good Hope; three nieces Melissa (Dittmer) Houston and husband Joey of Golden, Jenna (Dittmer) Jenkins and husband Adam of Camp Point, Renee McGrew of Good Hope; and one nephew Ryan McGrew of Good Hope. Also surviving are three great nieces. He was proceeded in death by his parents, one infant brother Mark Joseph Dittmer and one sister, Janet Louise (Dittmer) Vlach. A private family mass is pending with burial in Southside Cemetery Clayton, IL. "
