Michael Clark

Michael R. Clark, 63, of Decatur, IL, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2016, in his home. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Humane Society of Decatur and Macon County, DMH Hospice, or to a veterans group of your choice. Michael was born December 4, 1952, in Decatur, IL, the son of Lewis W. Clark, Jr. and Barbara A. (Owens) Clark. He married Marilyn Settles on March 27, 1996 in Decatur. Michael was a U.S. Army and National Guard veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He retired from the military and was a member of the American Legion Post 105. Michael also worked security for Richland Community College and as an assembler at Caterpillar. Michael enjoyed working in his yard but what gave him the most pleasure in life was spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife Marilyn of Decatur; daughter: Kimberly K. Morton of Decatur, IL; son: Courtney A. Settles and wife Michelle of Decatur, IL; grandchildren: Austin Cole Morton, Conner Grant Morton, Cameron R. Settles and Cooper R. Settles, all of Decatur. Also surviving are his mother Barbara of Decatur; sister: Pamela Sue Poling and husband Peter of Louisiana; brother: Timothy L. Clark and wife Mo of Des Plains, IL. Michael was preceded in death by his father. The family wishes to thank DMH Hospice for the care and compassion given to Michael. "
