Merry Waddell

Merry Hope Waddell, 76, of Illiopolis, died 8:30 AM July 4, 2010 at Imboden Creek Living Center. A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday July 7, 2010 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home. There will be no service and cremation rites will be accorded. Merry was born May 14, 1934 in Decatur, the daughter of Derrah Donald and Guyneth (Eaton) Hinton. She married Robert Waddell on December 14, 1960 in Decatur.Merry was employed as a bookkeeper at Geo. S. Walker Plumbing & Heating Co. from 1952 - 1963. She enjoyed golf and gardening. She graduated Millikin University in 1956 with a major in Business Administration and a was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Merry was formerly a member of DMH Auxiliary and was active in the Reach For Recovery division of the American Cancer Society. During winters in Fort Lauderdale she enjoyed working at various shops on Las Olas and Sunrise Blvds.Merry leaves behind her husband, Robert of Illiopolis, IL. and son, Judd Waddell of Manhattan, NY.She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters Donna Ward and Charlaine Veech. Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, is assisting the family with the arrangements. "
