Funeral Mass will be 11:00 A.M., Saturday, November 21, 2009, at Resurrection Parish, Illiopolis, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time, at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Illiopolis, IL. Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, is handling the arrangements.Memorials may be made to Resurrection Parish or National Kidney Foundation.Merle was born on December 15, 1925, in Niantic, IL, the son of Hugh and Sophia (Woodall) Moore. He married Margaret Jane Irvin on February 11, 1950, at St. Anns Catholic Church, in Niantic, IL. They celebrated 59 years of marriage together before her death on September 9, 2009. Merle farmed all his life in the Niantic and Buffalo area. After retiring, Merle worked for Niantic Crop Service. He was a member of Resurrection Parish. He was a volunteer at St. Marys Hospital, member of the Niantic Civic Club and the Macon County Farm Bureau. Merle was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran, serving in WWII.Surviving are his son Michael Moore and wife Brenda of Decatur, IL; daughter Janet Rayburn and husband Mark of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren Melissa Johanning, Tom Moore and wife Courtney, Brent Moore, Paul and Aaron Rayburn; and three great-grandchildren; brother George Moore and wife Jeanette of Niantic, IL; sister Jean Moore of Decatur, IL.Merle was preceded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter Ashley Jane Moore, grandson-in-law David Johanning, sisters Mary Lou Bollero and Agnes Selle, brothers Earl, John & Joe Moore. "
