Maxine Watts

Maxine Watts joined her husband Warren at 8:45 a.m., on December 12, 2016. Maxine was born July 27, 1929, in Milford, IL, to Francis and Mary (Casper) Carpenter. Her family moved to Vandalia, IL, when she was very young. She went all through school in Vandalia and graduated from Vandalia Community High School in 1947. Maxine married the love of her life on April 7, 1950, in Vandalia. They moved to Decatur in 1956 when Warren got a job at Caterpillar. Over the years, she did clerical work in various places and retired as secretary of Brush College Elementary School. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.There will be a private graveside service. A memorial service will be held at Wesley United Methodist Church on December 27, at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive family and friends an hour before the service.Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, will be assisting the family with arrangements.She leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Peggy Watts of Springfield, and Jeanette and Mark Flenner of Decatur; grandchildren Christopher and Renee Flenner of Houston, TX, and Andrew and Holly Flenner of Decatur; great-grandchildren Jace, Kennedy and Kaitlyn; her sister Joann (Robert) Williams of Jacksonville; and a host of nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, her parents, and various furry friends.Donations may be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Decatur & Macon County or the Animal Protective League of Springfield.The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff of Heritage Health in Mt.
