Leonard Mathew Wheatley, Jr. “Mat”, 58, of Decatur, passed away peacefully on February 20, 2024, surrounded by his family.
Visitation will be 1:00 – 3:00 PM, Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur.
Mat was born September 15, 1965 in Urbana, the son of Leonard M. Wheatley, Sr and Wanda Lynn (Lovett) Wheatley. He married Lisa Myers on May 8, 1993. Mat worked in computers for 30 years before beginning a career at Pivot Point Services in Clinton where he worked in the warehouse. He was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and enjoyed playing golf.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Lisa Wheatley, of Decatur; daughter, Malyssha Wheatley; grandson, Jaxson Neering; father, Leonard (Sue) Wheatley, Sr. of Niantic; sister, Terri (Scott) Sandage of Leroy; brother John Wheatley of Niantic; nephew, Dalton Lovett; niece, Sydney Sandage; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Judy (Merle) Nichols of Decatur; brother-in-law, Chris (Collette) Myers; sisters-in-law: Brandee (Ted) Allen and Tierany Myers; nephews: Logan Myers, and Gage Jones; and nieces: Cheyenne Myers and Allie Watts.
Mat was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda Wheatley; son, Austin Wheatley; and brother, Lloyd Lovett.
