Mary Wilmot

Mary Marjorie (Scott) Wilmot, 93, of Decatur, IL, passed away 9:30 p.m., Sunday, November 23, 2014, at McKinley Court Care Center, Decatur, IL. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Central Christian Church, Decatur. Mary was born October 22, 1921, in Cedar Rapids, IA, the daughter of Allan Morris and Alva (McHenry) Scott. She attended the University of Iowa and Iowa State University. Mary met the love of her life Duane E. Wilmot while working at the ordinance plant in Grand Island, NE and they married on December 4, 1944. She was a telegraph operator for the Union Pacific Railroad in Cheyenne, Wyoming, a bookkeeper for a dentist and also a truck dispatch office, both in Keokuk, Iowa. She lived in Whiting, IN, Danville, IL, and Keokuk, IA, before retiring to Yuma, AZ. She is survived by sons Quentin Scott Wilmot of Reno, NV, Kevin M. (Mickie) of Decatur, and The Reverend Dana Wilmot (Jennie) of Kittanning, PA; grandchildren Angie (Brett) Thompson of Plainfield, IL, Kyle (Jenny) Wilmot of Raeford, NC, Kory Wilmot of Raleigh, NC, Erin Wilmot of Royal Oak, MI; great grandchildren Cassie Wilmot of Raeford, NC, Lukas Thompson and Lyvia Thompson, both of Plainfield, IL. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Norman and Robert, granddaughter Lauren Lynn Wilmot. "
