Mary Jo Tucker, 64, of Decatur passed away at 10:40 A.M. on Thursday (01-23-2014). Memorial Mass will be held Tuesday, January 28th at 4:00pm at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Decatur, IL with celebrants Rev. Richard Weltin and Rev. Jeff Goekner officiating. Family will greet friends after the memorial mass in the gymnasium at Our Lady of Lourdes School. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL are handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes, 3850 Lourdes Drive, Decatur, IL 62526 or Saint Teresa High School, 2710 North Water Street, Decatur, IL 62526. Mary Jo was born July 15th, 1949, in Decatur, the daughter of James and Helen Griesbaum. She married Sid Tucker on June 11, 1994, in Decatur. Mary Jo was a graduate of St. Teresa High School. At age 15, Mary Jo began her career as an Illinois Bell operator. She was Operations Manager for AT&T from 1984 until1994. In the past 19 years, Mary Jo served as the Executive Director of Sales for GENSoft Systems, Inc. Mary Jo's happiness was her family. Her four boys: Matt, Nick, Clint and Kyle were her pride and joy. She worked all day and came home knowing that her boys were there with Grandma. She married Sid Tucker in 1994 which blessed her with an extended family of six children. Her family grew to include her 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, the lights of her life. Her granddaughters including Savana Brewer, Macie, and Bailey Vaux were always in her heart. Mary Jo was happiest when traveling with Sid to visit their children and grandchildren, on a beach vacation with friends and family, traveling for work, or in her hometown of Decatur. Mary Jo is survived by her husband Sid, her four sons: Matt and wife Nikki; Nick and wife Krissy, Clint and Kyle Vaux; children Suzanne Tucker, Michael Tucker and wife Christy, Tim Tucker and wife Kathy, John Tucker; Jennifer McLafferty and husband Mark; her sister Margie Dove and sister-in-law Carol Griesbaum; brother-in-law Joe Tucker and wife Connie; nineteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; five nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Joseph Griesbaum, brother-in-law Dennis Dove, Robert and Margaret Laughery, and Sid Tucker, Jr. "
