Funeral mass will be held 10:00 A.M., Friday, August 28, 2009 at Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Mt. Zion, IL. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 P.M., Thursday, August 27, 2009 at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL. Burial will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Mt. Zion, IL. Memorials may be made to: American Diabetes Association (Research Department).Mary was born on October 26, 1918 in Tocsin, Indiana, the daughter of Guy Elmer McBride and Teresa (Richardson) McBride. She married Alden Dugger on September 24, 1935 in Assumption, IL. He preceded her in death. She then married Carl E. Sphar on May 11, 1942 in St. Louis, MO.Mary was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Mt. Zion, IL. She worked at General Electric Company and retired from Mt. Zion School District food service. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, listening to country music and bird watching.Mary is survived by her children Janet I. Wise and husband Lyle of Shelbyville, IL., Diana Sue McMahon and husband Dave of Mt. Zion, IL., Eugene Sphar and wife Glenda of Decatur, IL., Pamela Corman and husband Tom of Decatur, IL., Darlene M. Devore and husband Roy of Sullivan, IL., Terry L. Sphar and wife Mary of Warrington, PA., Carol A. Moore and husband Dana of St. Petersburg, FL., and Mary Beth Berry and husband Russ of Dalton City, IL. Mary was very proud of, and loved very much her children and her 28 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren; three sisters Augusta Jackson of Decatur, IN., Berniece Riley of Taylorville, IL. and Genevieve Burrus and husband Henry of Rosamond, IL.She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Kenneth D. Dugger, one daughter-in-law Patricia Dugger, two brothers Joe and Jim McBride and one sister Clara Shaw. "
