Mary Faye Rush, 64, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Private family services will be at a later date. Memorials in Mary’s honor may be made to the family.

Mary was born July 1, 1959 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Lawrence F. Rush, Sr. and Bernidean Galsinger. Mary was a cook at Brown Jug for 5 years before their closing, and was a head chef for Holiday Inn for over 25 years. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, reading, playing card games, and especially loved her family.

She is survived by her sister-in-law: Leona Mae Rush; nephew: Lawrence Dwayne Harl (Lorina); brothers: Lawrence Rush Jr. of Chatham, IL, Ronald Rush of Harrodsburg, KY; sister: Shirley Ping of Las Vegas, NV; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and special friend Rick Overla.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister: Barbara Goble; and niece: Cynthia Harl.
