Mary Querrey

Mary Elizabeth(Clendenen) Querrey age 98 passed away September 22, 2014. She was a resident of Decatur until 2012 when she moved to Hendersonville TN. She was a charter member of St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and CD of A. She and her husband were owners and operators of several groceries stores in the city of Decatur, retired from Decatur Memorial Hospital, a member of both hospital auxiliaries ,Kiawanians, a faithful volunteer for many civic organizations. She loved to travel ,an avid bird feeder, a Cubs baseball fan, and especially enjoyed her needle crafts. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She always had a smile on her face and will be missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles T, parents William F. and Mary E (Hayes) Clendenen, two brothers and two sisters. Survived by her children, Carolyn Parker(Dannie), Charles T. (Monica),William C., grandchildren Amy Jeschawitz, Maggie Querrey, Joseph Querrey ,and Eric Parker(Ashley) Jill VerBurg( Chris), 5 great-grandchildren, Sister-in-law Gwen McConnell (Gary) Brother - in law Billy Querrey (Doris); many nieces and nephews. Special friends in Decatur and Hendersonville. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 30, at St. Thomas Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Friends Creek Cemetery, Argenta. Memorials may be made to St. Thomas Catholic Church and St. Teresa High School. "
